Trading definitely helped me out. I started doing it because I got married and we had 3 kids close together, so working was sort of out of the question for me for a while. I realized that I preferred being home with my kids, and having flexibility, along with being my own boss. I started trading from home and it's helping us a lot, although it isn't my only income, since my husband had a pretty good job.

I think the amount to expect differs based on a lot of factors. Also, some might need to make more money to stay afloat to support a larger family or living in one state/country versus another.
